2015 – 2016
This past year’s academy class focused on addressing the lack of resources for homeless youth in Marin and Sonoma Counties. They framed their reasoning behind the project in stating that they “believe that everyone has value and that [they] have a responsibility to [their] peers.”
Therefore, they planned, organized, and successfully orchestrated a Teens-4-Teens Supply Drive that collected backpacks, supplies, and monetary donations that were then donated to local organizations serving homeless teenagers. It was their hope that these resources will help their peers along their journeys toward breaking the cycle of homelessness and establishing a more sustainable lifestyle.
In 2014, our Student Leaders worked to produce The Justice Conference Marin to bring awareness and action regarding Modern Day Slavery and Human Trafficking both locally, nationally and globally.
