Today was a big Flexico Mexico day…
This morning our goal was to have two concrete pours…we only had one.
CDL – The students arrived at 9 am ready for the pour to begin at 9:15 am…but the truck didn’t arrive until closer to 10 am. This does happen often in Mexico. Needless to say, we were able to get the sidewalk poured and finished. Students also worked on cleaning up the yard, shoveling dirt, more stucco, and painting some of the walls.
La Hermosa Orphanage – We had planned on pouring a 20 x 24′ slab for the orphanage today, we were ready to go, but the man who was supposed to facilitate the pour never showed up. We moved the rock and sand closer to the slab so we are ready to go tomorrow morning.
We have almost finished all of our projects this week. The only two projects left are painting at CDL and the concrete pour.
After lunch today we headed to the beach for some fun and some rest. Then later we had homemade carne asada tacos with guacamole. The house we had dinner, also had about seven puppies. Yes, students were wanting to take them home and no, we didn’t let them.
Tomorrow we will work in the morning and then have a pizza party with the orphanage in the afternoon.
Until tomorrow…
