Good evening…I apologize for the late post.
This morning we woke up to fog and a nice cool morning. We divided into our three worksites and headed out for a great day of work.
La Mision – We finished leveling the dirt to start pouring the slab for next week’s group. As we were planning where the bathroom was going to go with the owner, I asked if he had a sketch of his plan. He didn’t. So we grabbed a paper plate and began drawing out his house on the back. Late he grabbed some paper from his house. So now we have a simple sketch of his house.
Casa De Luz – finished the corner that we started this week with paint and began stuccoing other parts of the wall.
Carlos – Is almost done with filling in the tires with sand to level the yard.
After lunch, we all headed to the beach for some fun in the water and relaxing. Then we went out for dinner.
Tonight we heard from Carlos (the same person we are filling tires with sand). He is 23 and shared his story and challenged the students to consider their choices, especially with their friends. It was so good!
Afterward, there was a little dance party that broke out in the kitchen. It’s fun seeing them all have fun with each other, WITHOUT THEIR PHONES!!!
Tomorrow we will work a half-day again and then have a little party with the children at the orphanage in the afternoon. Tomorrow night we will begin packing up.
