This may have been the longest day in Be2Live history. Wake up time in the 3 am hour and bed time at 10 pm. But it was a good day.
After arriving in San Diego we divided into vans and headed south to Mexico. Our first stop was Tijuana Playas to see the border wall that separates our two countries. On the Mexico side it feels like a party at the beach along with the colorful painted wall. The art painted on the wall are expressions of hope, grief, peace-seeking, and sadness.
While at the border some students had churros, fruit, and fried bugs (yeah you read the right).
Then we drive to Ensenada to two of the best taco shops. Getting our fill of carne asada, adobada (marinated pork), and fish. No one wanted to try tripa (pig infested) or Cabeza (brain). Probably the right decisions.
After lunch we drive another 2 hours south finally arriving in Camalu. Students set up in their dorm rooms before heading to dinner. And yes, dinner was pretty amazing Mexican food.
After dinner students had a little free time to swing on some swings, play soccer and volley a volleyball before our team time.
Students are now taking showers and playing some card games
Tomorrow we will start our projects.
