This has been an amazing week with some amazing students. Thank you for entrusting us with these precious people for a week in Mexico.
Today was our last day and because of their hard work we took the morning and went to the beach! They earned.
Tomorrow we will make the long trip home. We plan on leaving at 6 am. It will take us about 5 hours (with at least one stop) to get to the border. Then it could take us 45 min to 4 hours to wait in line depending on how many are crossing. I hope to be across by 2 pm, if not sooner. I will post here when we cross.
The. Please monitor the flight status from your need and hopefully there are no delays tomorrow. When you pick up your student, please be sure they have their sleeping bag and pillow.
The experiences this week have been rich and deep. Returning home can be a little jarrng at first. They will be coming from a community with dusty, dirt roads where the majority of people have no running water in their home to a house that is clean and has running water. Know that some students will talk your ear off until 1 am others may need a little time to adjust. Please use the photos and this blog as a way of debriefing the trip with your student.
Again, thank you and you should be very proud of your son and/or daughter. We love them all.
