Sorry for the late post…
Today was a full day.
We had one big crew pouring concrete again up until lunch. Daniel the director asked if we could keep going after lunch. Though tired, the students finished off then concrete work a day early! 150 concrete bags.
Another crew went to the house to continue working on dry wall. The house is of a single mother of three children who’s husband/ father died two years ago. The children attend the day car we are staying at. We hope to finish the muddying tomorrow.
Also this afternoon we had a small group of students walk a part of the community delivering water filling up people’s buckets and pilas. The houses we visited don’t have running water so they need to purchase water to wash their cloths and clean with. It was quite eye opening.
Tomorrow we will have a big team go to Rancho Genesis. Genesis is an organization that provides sleep away camp for orphanage children. Their first week of the summer starts this Sunday. They have asked us to come and help them set up. We will send a crew their to prepare camp. This will also be our stop on Friday with everyone.
We will also have a crew working on the drywall and finally a crew going to Los Pinos to help where Open Arms is opening a 3rd daycare.
Other than a few scrapes and bruises, everyone is doing well.
