Today was a loooong travel day. Thankfully we all made it to Camalu safely.
The day started early as we left the Oakland airport. After arriving in San Diego we headed to the borders after crossing with no issues we drove to Tijuana Playas to see the border wall up close. On the Mexico side the wall is a canvas for art. Many artists have expressed their feelings about the wall through painting. It is a mixed feeling of hope, anger, sadness, and longing.
After discussing aspects of the wall we enjoyed some churros, fruit, ice cream and fried bugs (yes you read that right). Then we headed south to Ensenada.
We stopped at a location that had two great taco shops to choose from. Students had their fill of some of the best tacos before we started our long drive south.
Today there wasn’t a lot of traffic thankfully. We made good times through the winding roads to Camalu.
As soon as we arrived we grabbed dinner at the day care. Students are now settling down for the night as tomorrow we will begin our work.
