This morning was another beautiful sunrise. It was also a very hot day.
Students today continued painting the tiny house and finishing it. Other students worked hard filling in a trench for the pipes that were laid on Monday that will provide water to an organic garden so the children can have some healthy vegetables.
Others finished painting the basketball court walls. This project is almost finished as not all of it was plastered. But a crew finished plastering it tonight before dinner so we will be able to paint on Thursday.
The students have been working so hard plus it was hot, that we took the afternoon to rest. Lunch was at 1:30, so after some rest, we took a trip into town for ice cream and some snacks. Once we returned to camp the children were out of school so more fun and play was had.
Then tonight we saw a beautiful sunset over the mountain and ocean.
The students have been amazing, not only in their work, but in their engagement on learning new things, a new culture, and a new perspective on God, themselves, and the world around them We have had some great thought-provoking conversations along the way
Tomorrow we will work for a half-day and then head to the beach. We will probably join a Mexican youth group for some fun tomorrow night as well. It is a church that started the orphanage we are staying at.
I hope to send you a link for photos tomorrow…
