This morning was a lot cooler thank goodness and a few students went on a short morning hike.
Following breakfast Aaron, our Mexican host shared his story of living on the streets when he was 12, being addicted to drugs and his road back to redemption and is now helping other men recover from drug abuse. He has an amazing story of how God saved and redeemed his life.
We then divided into three teams.
One team went to La Mision to finish up stuccoing the house. We have a few minor things to do tomorrow.
Another crew stayed here and continued to paint and pour some concrete for some footers of a new building.
Lastly another crew went to our house. Over the course of the last five years we have hosted families and individuals who have been refugees, in need of shelter and safety, as well as others who just needed to get away and retreat. Our house has become a place of rest and refuge.
Currently we have a Russian family staying at our house who is fleeing the violence in Ukraine. We are leveling our front yard so we can pour a concrete slab, driveway as it has been mainly dirt since we moved to Mexico 5 years ago.
This afternoon we headed to the beach for much deserved fun and rest. Then we divided and went to a few taco shops for dinner.
Tomorrow we will finish up our projects before we head home on Saturday.
