Today was a hot and sunny day.
We were back to painting at the orphanage. It is a big paint job as we aren’t quite finished. But the students have been great in their commitment to doing a good job and completing the job.
The other crew continued stuccoing the house, adding paper and chicken wire to the wood parts of the house. Thankfully a man selling ice cream came by while we were working in the hot sun.
Lastly a crew went to Casa Berea. It will be a house for men who need to get back on their feet after rehab. There are no men there currently, but we were able to do some work to get it ready. Aaron, who the students know as he is one of our hosts here at the orphanage is the director and he also leads a Bible study there a few nights a week.
Tonight we hosted the children from the orphanage with S’mores. It was a lot of fun seeing the students continue to connect with the children, laugh, play and eat some yummy S’mores.
Tomorrow we will work a half day and then head to the beach after lunch. Dinner will be at a local taco shop.
